In May 2026, Fatima Karimova participated as a panel speaker at European Identity in Times of Crisis, an event organized by the Nordic Embassies in Berlin and attended by more than 80 interns working at embassies, ministries, and state representations across the German capital.
The discussion moderated by Clemens Bomsdorf of the Norwegian Embassy, the panel brought together Kristine Graneng (Free University of Berlin), Oliver Moody (The Times), Renata Birna Einarsdóttir (Icelandic Embassy), and Fatima Karimova.
Drawing on her experience as a journalist covering political developments, media freedom, and democratic transitions, Karimova contributed perspectives on the role of independent journalism in shaping public discourse and fostering a shared understanding of European values during times of uncertainty.
