In July 2025, Fatima Karimova participated as a speaker at the conference Independent Journalism in Times of Crisis, organized by the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom in Gummersbach, Germany.
As part of a panel discussion on the role of exile media, she joined journalists Yavuz Baydar (Turkey) and Hazrat Bahar (Afghanistan) to examine the evolving challenges faced by independent and exiled media organizations worldwide. The discussion explored the importance of exile media in sustaining access to reliable information, supporting press freedom, and responding to increasing political and economic pressures across different regions.
The panel brought together perspectives from journalists working in diverse contexts to reflect on the future of independent journalism in times of crisis.
